This is Nora, my Mother. She immigrated to California in 1979, with her entire family, at the very beginning of the Iranian revolution more than 40 years ago.

She fled her country to come to this one and although I’ve known parts of her story, I have felt the pull to know more, p
articularly because of what has been going on in the Middle East, Iran specifically.

A Muslim extremist regime that started with a revolution more than 40 years ago, and today we are witnessing the outcome; the demise of a country that at a point was one of the greatest.

This 35 minute video which I am presenting in 5 different parts, is a piece about her and her experiences.

Her recounts of Iran before and during the revolution, what she thinks and feels about those experiences, as well as her thoughts about what is happening now, in a country she once knew as her own.

This is also an Immigrant story. The story of my people from the perspective of my strong, powerful, resilient Mother. This interview was recorded and shot in LA in February of 2023.
